We visited for a family dinner and ordered the Mix Kebab Combo. The portions were huge, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. We loved the fresh warm bread and finished with delicious Künefe. Great service and 100% Halal!" — Sarah M.

FAQ

1. What kind of food is best suited for winter festivals?

For winter festivals, hearty and warming dishes are essential. Our menu features excellent options such as Lamb Shank (İncik) (slow-cooked and comforting), Sac Tava (sizzling beef or chicken sauté), and Iskender Kebab (served with hot tomato sauce and butter). Additionally, hot handheld items like fresh-baked Pide and Lahmacun are perfect for keeping guests warm and satisfied.

2. Do you provide warm food stations or soup bars?

Yes.

  • Soup: We offer a daily Soup of the Day (often traditional Lentil Soup), which can be set up in soup kettles to serve as a warming station.

  • Warm Food: Our Full-Service Catering includes professional chafing dishes (warmers) to ensure main courses like stews and kebabs stay piping hot, even in colder environments.

3. Are Mama Fatma’s dishes available for winter street festivals?

Yes. Our food is well-suited for winter street markets. Items like Içli Köfte (Kibbeh) and Sigara Böreği are hot, crispy appetizers that are easy to eat while walking. We can also provide "Grab-and-Go" Pide slices.

4. Can you set up catering tents or outdoor heated setups?

No. Mama Fatma specializes in the food and service. We do not provide rental infrastructure like heated tents, marquees, or patio heaters. You would need to arrange the tent and heating separately.

5. Are dessert and hot beverage options like tea or salep included?

  • Hot Beverages: We serve premium Turkish Tea and Turkish Coffee, which are the perfect antidotes to winter chill. Note: "Salep" is not currently listed on our standard menu, but our tea service is a culturally rich alternative.

  • Hot Desserts: The highlight of a winter menu is our Künefe, a cheese-filled pastry soaked in syrup and served hot—arguably the best winter dessert.

6. Do you offer halal or vegetarian items suitable for festivals?

Yes.

  • Halal: Our entire menu is 100% Halal.

  • Vegetarian: We offer warm vegetarian options like Vegetarian Pide, Mushroom Pide, and Spinach & Cheese Pide, as well as hot Lentil Soup (check daily availability).

7. Is your staff equipped to serve in cold weather environments?

Yes. Our professional catering team is experienced in serving at various outdoor and semi-outdoor events throughout the Canadian seasons. Provided there is a covered/sheltered area for the food station (to keep the food hot), our staff can manage the service efficiently.

8. Can you handle high-volume service for public events?

Yes. We have experience catering to "Large Parties" and community gatherings. For high-volume public festivals, we recommend a Buffet or Station Setup (e.g., a "Pide Station" or "Kebab Station") to maximize speed of service.

9. How far in advance do we need to book for December festivals?

December is a peak month due to holidays. We strongly recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance to secure your date and ensure we have the staffing capacity for a large winter event.
